As if you didn’t know already but I proposed to Heather on top of the Empire State Building, New York on 28/02/09. And she said yes! This means that not only is she now commited to becoming my wife in a more traditional sense but also she is also about to become my property legally under British law and legally I am able to brand her like cattle. Only joking!!!!
We had a fantastic weekend (if a little wind swept) dossing around in New York city and I thoroughly enjoyed the sights, smells and attitude of the place. I felt very at home there for some reason. The driving etiquette was something closer to that I saw in Tunisia (i.e. move or I will run you over, and just for good measure I’ll keep my hand on the horn until you do move). I saw a road sign that said “Don’t even THINK about parking here”, even the city signs have an attitude! The flights were very, very good and I would heartily recommend Delta for Atlantic crossings in future. Our strict financial discpline of the start of this year meant that we had enough cash to eat and do the things we wanted. Realistically we will go back when we have more time and money and do the full New york expereince – this time it was more about spending time with each other and being in love in a fabulous city. If I get time tonight, I’ll create a new album on the gallery.
